This handsome boy finished his Championship at the age of 16 months. He was a son of our Colquhoun's Caitlin, CD WC sired by Ch. Borador's The Goblin. He had a wonderful Labrador temperament, and was a real clown! He was a little boy in a dog suit. Naming Brut was easy. We had been saving him for a show home because he was such a nice boy. But we had already decided to keep a bitch from the same litter, and definitely weren't planning on keeping two from the same litter. He was about 8 weeks old, maybe 9, and we were sitting around following our Sunday brunch sipping a little Tott's champagne. Tricia said, "You know, if we keep that male we've got champagne taste on a beer budget." Whereupon Greg said, "That's it--Kellyn's Champagne Taste!" Whereupon Tricia said, "Oh yeah? And just what are you planning on calling him?" Whereupon Greg looked down at the label on the champagne bottle, and you can guess the rest! (Greg was cut off of champagne for a long time after that...)
